Yellow Fever in July
Get ready for the start of the Tour de France on July 5th. Just in time we’ve got our new Le Tournesol T-shirt design for sale at Apres Velo. The French translation for sunflower seems like an appropriate pun for the race leader’s maillot jaune. This latest design is a collage of this year’s tour where we’ll see riders traversing cobbled roads, picturesque vineyards, winding mountain climbs, and finally the Arc d’Triomphe in Paris. Available in men’s and women’s sizes.

Promo Art For #ITSMYTOUR
We’re pretty excited to finally be able to talk about our artwork being chosen to be used for this year’s #itsmytour competition by Specialized Bicycles. If you aren’t familiar its a fun contest to play while you follow along with this year’s Tour de France. Register and play here. Quoted from the site:
From Saturday, July 5th to Sunday, July 27th 2014 the Tour de France will take place for the 101st time. If you are one of us and can’t wait to follow the Tour from the first to the 3.664th kilometer you are in the right place.
Be part of our #ITSMYTOUR Campaign and win a special trip to the Specialized Headquarters in Morgan Hill, California to meet our founder Mike Sinyard. As a keepsake of this trip you will receive an original road bike ridden by one of our Specialized athletes during the Tour the France 2014.
Prove your knowledge, experience and intuition in professional cycling and place your bet during the 21 stages on the winner of each stage or stage winning team as well as on the rider wearing the Yellow Jersey on the respective day.
To be on time to place your first bet you can first register by July 3rd 2014.
Trophy Bikes Identity
Recently, Eleanor and I did a new identity/rebranding for Trophy Bikes. Trophy is a local Philadelphia bike shop that’s felt like family to me for going on 9+ years. They sell and service bicycles with a speciality in practical, affordable, and fun transportation for commuters and cyclo-tourists. After working closely with manager, Andrew Susser, and staff we’ve come up with something that we’re all really proud of. There’s been a soft rollout of the logo right now on the web and various social medias, but I hope to do a proper post once we’ve implemented more practical items. Thanks to Trophy for being such a pleasure to work with!

The Goods
A while back myself and my Birthday Street buddies, Kevin Cornell and Matt Sutter, contributed an installment to McSweeney’s: The Goods. If you were unfamiliar, it’s a weekly full page feature for newspapers consisting of games and puzzles geared toward “big kids, little kids, and medium-sized kids.” Now the powers that be have compiled our contribution and a bunch of others into a book! BUY YOURS TODAY!
On The Catwalk
Today is the grand opening of the “Works on Paper” show by Justin Santora and us at Specialized Bicycles’ Catwalk Gallery. That’s right, THE Specialized. We’re pretty excited for the opportunity to do the show with special thanks to John Freeborn for setting it up.
Nailed It
Late last year I did some storyboard work for an animated commercial being produced by the newly minted Electric Kite Animation studio. Done in an old UPA inspired style for the characters and backgrounds it was a real treat to work on. The funny thing (gross to some) was that it was for a topical toenail gel. The finished product looks really awesome! Great job team!
